Sarah Brown
Administrator
Sarah Brown is originally from Oregon, where she had the wonderful experience of attending Montessori school as a child. She had such a valuable experience that she decided to study Montessori education in college. She has a B.A. in elementary education from Oregon State University, an AMI Montessori teaching certificate for ages three to six from the Montessori Institute Northwest and a Masters in Montessori Education from Loyola College.
Sarah has been working in Montessori Schools in the Flathead Valley as a teacher, administrator and parent since 2007. She joined KME as principal/administrator in fall 2020. In her spare time she loves to enjoy beautiful Montana with her husband and two children.

David Cummings Elementary II Teacher
David has been with KME since 2001. He began as an assistant to Terry Welder in the Elementary II classroom. In the summer of 2002 he traveled to New York to receive 6-12 grade training at the Center for Montessori Teacher Education (now known as CME) and is certified by AMS. He has been teaching with Terry in the EII classroom ever since. David received his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from MSU-Bozeman in 1997 where he met his lovely wife, Dawn. Together they joined Peace Corps in 1999 and taught ESL in Morocco. In high school he was a foreign exchange student to Latvia through the AFS Intercultural Program and continues to volunteer for them. David grew up in the Flathead Valley and loves living among his family. He has two daughters, both completed Montessori schooling, and an inexplicable passion for bird hunting and bike riding.

Harris Montanye
Elementary I Teacher
Harris joined our staff as an Elementary I Teacher in the 2019-2020 school year. Harris comes to us with education and experience both in and out of the Montessori realm, and a background that will both add to and complement the classroom and our other Elementary I Teacher, Heather. Harris holds a BS in Psychology from Auburn University. Additionally, Harris has taught Yoga and Mindfulness to children, coached hockey, and assisted therapists at Sweetgrass Psychological. He directed the aftercare program at Woodland Montessori the same year that he was a teaching assistant and has been a substitute residential counselor at Summit Preparatory Therapeutic Boarding School, leading older students in outdoor and school related activities. In his spare time you will find Harris enjoying beautiful Montana with his fiancé, baking bread and playing hockey.

Heather Hollis
Elementary I Teacher
Heather has been with KME since 2007. She began as a public school teacher in Southern California and was looking for way to move to our beautiful state while also continuing to teach children. Heather graduated with a B.A. in Liberal Studies and minored in Theatre Arts. She completed her teaching credential and Masters in Education at UC Davis and also holds a current MT K-8 teaching certificate. Her desire to meet and impact every student at his/her own level and her curiosity about Montessori drew her to KME. She has since completed both Montessori Elementary I and Elementary II credentials. Heather has also enjoyed working with children over the summer, providing tutoring, as well as soccer and drama camps through Woodland Montessori’s summer camp program. Heather lives in the Flathead Valley with her two beautiful daughters, Aurora and Brooke. As a family they love taking advantage of hiking, kayaking, biking, and having Glacier National Park in their “back yard.”

Sarah Kirchner
Elementary II Assistant
Sarah was born and raised here in the Flathead Valley. After receiving an Associates Degree from FVCC she traveled to Honduras and spent two years working as a tutor in Math and English. Upon returning to Montana, she followed her passion for teaching and learning pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. Sarah is David's aid in Elementary Two classroom, which she loves following the Montessori method. Sarah has been with KME since the fall of 2019. When not in the classroom, you can find Sarah in her garden or out rock climbing- anything outdoors really.

Heather Dolan
Spanish & Music Teacher
EI Assistant & Aftercare
Heather wears many hats here at KME. She is our Spanish and Music teacher, as well as our aftercare provider and an assistant for our EI classroom.
Corrie Holloway
Communications Director
Corrie moved to the Flathead Valley in 1996 from Flagstaff Arizona where she attended college and studied Outdoor Education and Leadership. She spent 15 years working as a backpacking/hiking guide in Glacier National Park during the summers and for Ski Patrol at Whitefish Mountain Resort in the winters. In more recent years, she has also worked as a Human Resource Representative and a Marketing Director. Corrie loves traveling, painting, skiing, hiking, and spending time with her family. In her spare time she is working on opening a children's museum in the valley.
