Finance Manager

The Finance Manager of Kalispell Montessori Elementary is a vital member of the administrative team, responsible for managing the school’s financial systems in alignment with its mission and Montessori philosophy. This role oversees budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, tuition billing, compliance, and vendor relations.

 

Working closely with the Head of School (HoS) and Board of Directors ensures sound fiscal management, supports strategic planning, and helps sustain a nurturing and well-resourced learning environment. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and detail-oriented professional who values the unique culture of Montessori education and is committed to supporting the long-term health and sustainability
of the school.

Schedule, Compensation & Benefits:

  • $40 - $50,000 salary

  • 30 - 35 hours per week

  • Hybrid in-person and remote. Flexible schedule within monthly financial deadlines and board meeting schedule. 1-3 days per week on campus during the school year. More flexibility over summer and school breaks.

Lead or Intern Teacher

​We’re looking for a passionate educator to join our Upper Elementary teaching team (grades 4th - 6th! This position is ideal for someone who loves working with children and is excited to support their academic, social, and personal growth—whether you're already Montessori-trained or eager to learn more about this transformative educational approach.

The right candidate will:

  • Enjoy working with children ages 9–12 and appreciate the unique qualities of the upper elementary years

  • Have experience working with students one-on-one and in small or large groups

  • Be collaborative, reliable, and eager to support a classroom led by an experienced Montessori guide

  • Have prior classroom or tutoring experience (Montessori experience or training is a plus, but not required)

  • Be open to professional growth, including the possibility of Montessori teacher training

In this role, you'll:

  • Work closely with the lead Montessori teacher to provide individual and small group support

  • Help monitor and guide students during independent work periods

  • Assist with tasks such as recording homework, grading quizzes, and maintaining classroom routines

  • Support a rich learning environment that extends beyond the classroom—our students also engage in outdoor adventures like backpacking and rock climbing

Music Teacher

We’re seeking a creative and enthusiastic music teacher to share the joy of music with our 1st through 6th grade students! This part-time role is perfect for someone who loves working with children and is passionate about helping them explore rhythm, melody, movement, and musical expression in a hands-on, engaging way.

​

The right candidate will:

  • Enjoy working with children ages 6–12 and appreciate their energy, curiosity, and creativity

  • Have experience leading group activities or teaching music (formally or informally) to elementary-aged students

  • Be confident planning lessons that include music theory, appreciation, and performance

  • Be collaborative, organized, and excited to work as part of a larger educational team

  • Bring a playful, encouraging, and student-centered approach to the classroom

In this role, you'll:

  • Design and lead weekly music lessons for mixed-age groups (1st–3rd and 4th–6th grades)

  • Incorporate a variety of musical experiences—singing, rhythm games, movement, instruments, and listening

  • Support a culture of curiosity and creativity through the arts

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to complement the broader curriculum when appropriate

Kalispell Montessori Elementary is seeking a caring, attentive, and flexible Classroom Support Aide to join our team. This part-time role is designed to provide consistent one-on-one support to a student who benefits from additional support, while also assisting the lead teacher and supporting the needs of the wider classroom. We are looking for someone who enjoys building meaningful connections with children, can follow a child’s lead with patience and curiosity, and is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide steady, respectful support to an individual student while helping maintain a calm, inclusive classroom environment.

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing a developmentally appropriate, Montessori-informed instructional program for students ages 9–12.

  • Support classroom learning by helping with individual and small-group work, especially in core academic areas such as math and language.

  • Observe and document student progress; assist with classroom record keeping and assessments.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or caregiving settings

  • Comfort with basic math and literacy skills in order to assist student learning

  • Interest in Montessori philosophy and a willingness to learn more through training and observation

  • Ability to work with compassion, flexibility, and confidentiality

Literacy Specialist (Part-Time)

We’re looking for a dedicated literacy specialist to join our Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary teaching teams! This part-time role is ideal for someone who loves supporting young readers and helping students grow in their confidence, fluency, and love of reading. Whether you're trained in literacy intervention or simply have a passion for reading and working with children, we’d love to hear from you.

The right candidate will:

​

  • Enjoy working with children ages 6–12 and appreciate the early and middle stages of literacy development

  • Have experience supporting reading growth—individually or in small groups

  • Be comfortable with strategies for decoding, phonetic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension

  • Be collaborative and communicative when working with classroom teachers and other staff

  • Be flexible and patient in a dynamic, student-centered environment

  • Hold a reading specialist certification, speech-language pathology experience, or a related degree (preferred but not required)

​

In this role, you’ll:

  • Work with students in grades 1–6 who benefit from additional literacy support

  • Meet with students during the open-ended morning work cycle, either in the classroom or in a dedicated reading space

  • Evaluate new students as needed and track ongoing student progress

  • Collaborate with lead teachers to coordinate support, share updates, and recommend materials or strategies

  • Help foster a culture of reading that promotes joy, curiosity, and confidence

  • Align your approach with the Montessori philosophy and Kalispell Montessori’s learning culture

Schedule, Compensation & Benefits:

  • 4–5 hours per week, ideally between 9:15 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on weekdays

  • Flexible weekly schedule; occasional afternoon hours possible, though mornings are preferred

  • $30 – $40/hour depending on experience

  • One hour per week may be used for planning and teacher communication

  • Additional hours and compensation possible in future school years

  • Must be able to adapt around field trips or special events
